Money
To take part in the trip, riders will need to raise a minimum of £4,995 in sponsorship. This target will cover all your trip expenses and the guaranteed donation. For each participant we promise to donate a minimum of £1,500 from your overall sponsorship target. The donation is split 30% each to UNICEF, Sentebale and Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and 10% to Touch Africa. In addition, 100% of monies raised above the minimum target are donated to the chosen charities.

For some the minimum target will be easy to achieve, for others it could seem a steep mountain to climb. Once you start putting your mind to the task it is surprising how enjoyable, satisfying and easy raising the sponsorship money can become. Use your head, get motivated and be active - you will be amazed at how many ideas you and others will have, the possibilities are endless. The thing to remember is that you have to start somewhere and no matter how small the start is, at least it is a start. If you are determined to do this, then nothing will stop you. Don't limit yourself to your friends and family - there are a lot of people out there who will happily sponsor you for amounts large and small.

Global Enduro is what's called a social enterprise, a business which makes a profit from helping others. Enduro Africa is an ethical and profitable product of Global Enduro Limited, the project generates a fee of £1,500 for Global Enduro, the company that runs and owns Enduro Africa. This fee covers our full time team, advertising, all office costs, recce trips, wages etc.

Our aim for Enduro Africa 2006 was to donate a brand new motorcycle plus a minimum cash donation of £500 per participant towards costs and maintenance. Many of our 113 fundraisers exceeded even our expectations and enabled us to deliver 114 motorcycles valued at £149,910 plus a cash donation in excess of £80,000 to the charity Riders for Health – a huge extra donation way above our promise to the charity was achieved. In addition to this, the 2006 event also donated £11,000 to smaller projects along the actual route on the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

That's a whopping total amount of £241,430.93! Not bad for our inaugural event. We are immensely thankful to all of the Enduro Africa 2006 participants for making this possible – Well done!

Enduro Africa 2007 smashed the performance of 2006’s amazing success with Global Enduro donating a further 132 bikes worth £173,580 and £149,000 towards the running cost of that fleet, enabling us to donate a vast £322,580.00 to the charity Riders for Health - Again blowing the minimum promised donation way out of the water. Enduro Africa 2008 figures will be available after the event which takes place this October.

The projected donation for Enduro Africa 2008 was £240,000 based on the minimum donation of £1,500 for each of the projected 160 participants. We are please to announce that yet again we have exceeded on this promise for 2008. 172 participants reached South Africa for the start of the ride, making this by far our biggest motorcycling event.

With help and encouragement from the Global Enduro fundraising team and much hard work from the participants an additional £41,239.78 above the minimum target was raised, 100% of which is pledged to our charities. Therefore the 172 riders have a made a charitable donation of £299,239.78 which equates to a massive 33.2% of the total raised. Global Enduro has topped up the pot to bring the figure to £300,000 which means a donation of £100,000 has been given to each charity from the 2008 event.
